Welcome!

3/23/11

When I began working at Northern California Indian Development Council in the Tobacco Education Department, I became shocked by how much I did not know about commercial tobacco products compared to what I did know. After learning more about the commercial tobacco products and the problems with it, I became interested in focusing on researching more about the subject and I started working to bring awareness to the problems with commercial tobacco products, especially within the Native American communities; because it is essential to keep tobacco sacred within Native American cultures. I have created a variety of posters and brochures about second hand smoke, third hand smoke, cessation, cigarette butt litter, and many more addressing problems with commercial tobacco products. I have now taken my next step to create a blog analyzing the importance of tobacco education within Native American communities because some people don't realize how important and essential it is within the Native communities.
